Humans have always planted and felled trees. But old trees are always special habitats. Many a tree feeds the forest animals in autumn, is a biotope for precious insect species such as stag beetles and Schillerfalter or serves as a breeding ground for owls and squirrels. The film invites you on a journey to the oldest and largest trees in Germany and shows the biodiversity that can exist on a single, large tree.
