Maudie

Canada, 1930s. Everett Lewis (Ethan Hawke) is a reclusive peddler on the east coast. Against the loneliness and for some order in his little cottage, he decides to hire a housekeeper. But only Maud Dowley (Sally Hawkins) answered his ad. Suffering from rheumatoid arthritis as a child, she is petite, limps and her hands are crippled. Maud has only one wish, she wants to get away from her family, who don't trust her. And she wants to paint!
